Mp4Gain is an audio normalization algorithm which is typically used for volume normalization of mp3, mp4, and other formats. It’s free to use under the terms of the GNU General Public License. Mp4Gain will not change or affect your audio in any other way than changing its volume in order to provide you with a more level listening experience.
##The Latest Updates for Mp4Gain library * 2/24/2018: The latest version 1.10 of Mp4Gain can now adjust levels using target values from another file as a reference point. This new feature is greatly helpful when using Mp4Gain with different video formats. * 1/25/2018: The latest version 1.8 of Mp4Gain can now use a separate source file as a reference point during the normalization process. This new feature is helpful when using Mp4Gain with mp3 files that have a very high dynamic range. * 4/18/2017: The latest version 1.7 of Mp4Gain can now work on an "average" mode which averages the gain from all processed files during the normalization process. * 4/15/2017: The latest version 1.6 of Mp4Gain can now work on an "individual" mode which adjusts the gain of each file individually during the normalization process. * 2/12/2017: The latest version 1.5 of Mp4Gain can now work on a "dynamic" mode which allows users to set a desired level ceiling value for each processed file, this new feature is very useful when using Mp4Gain with mp3 files that have a very large dynamic range, meaning that there are some moments in the audio where is too silent and other moments in the audio where the volume is too loud. ##Mp4Gain 1.10 and Mp4Gain 1.8 now have been released * New Features implemented in Mp4Gain 1.10: - Improved video compatibility by detecting video resolution automatically instead of using a hard coded value 1600x1200 as previous versions of Mp4Gain were doing. This new feature makes Mp4Gain now able to work on any video resolution, not just 720px high videos as previous versions of the program were only working on. - The new video feature also improves video compatibility because the target audio gain will now be detected automatically instead of being hard coded to no gain if your video file is in SD(Standard Definition) for example. - Improved audio gain calculation by introducing a new volume adjustment algorithm. This new algorithm calculates visually the volume change difference between the original volume stored in file and the volume stored in the tag, this allows to have a visually accurate representation of possible gain increase or decrease if Mp4Gain decides to adjust a file's volume.
